A challenge? Goodness. You've got some guts. I'd have run screaming from the attempt! :)

This is really well observed, and I love how the texture remains true to the medium. Your markmaking is just excellent.

I set up a drapery study for my advanced drawing students every semester and its the "Dreaded" project so to speak. I always try and draw one when Im not working with them to demonstrate how to handle drapery... although this was my most sadistic drapery set up yet =)

Anyway the whole point of the assignment is to take a section of the drapery and make a focal point within a composition. The students have to change the value of the drapery to do this because in actuality... al the drapery is white =).

I borrowed this project from one of my art instructors.
